Skin Types - Normal and Combination Skin, Oily and Dry Skin Care
Normal Skin
Normal skin has barely visible pores and radiant pinkish complexions, with no imperfections. Normal skin has an adequate amount of water and lipids, an adequate balance between them, and a moderate sensitivity level. This type of skin has a clear, fine-textured, supple and smooth surface which is neither greasy nor dry. It glows with an inner health which stems from good blood circulation and excellent health. Normal skin is achieved by the ideal balance between the rate of sebum production and cellular exchange. Normal skin is extremely healthy, and requires no unique care. It is blemish free, smooth and soft, and responds well to mild cleansing, and light, non-greasy moisturizers.
Dry Skin Type
Dry skin, also called xerosis, is a common problem. Your skin needs moisture to stay smooth and supple, and retaining moisture is especially difficult in winter. your skin moisture may get remove by simple daily routines, such as bathing and towel drying. Iit removes the skin's oily lipid layer and in the long run causes more moisture loss than gain. Dry skin is most common in your lower legs, arms, flanks (sides of the abdomen), and thighs. Dry skin is usually not serious, but it can be uncomfortable and unsightly, turning plump cells into shriveled ones. The most serious dry skin condition, is the inherited group of disorders called ichthyosis. There may be tiny expression lines on the dry skin area.
Oily Skin Type
Oily skin usually has a lot of shine to it and the pores are generally enlarged. Oily skin has a greasy, sallow and course complexion. It is more prone to pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads than other skin types and is coarser in texture. Oily skin has large pores and tends to have pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. Within hours of washing the oiliness will reappear and makeup is usually absorbed quickly. Oily skin is often shiny and coarse in texture and may have recurring blackheads and enlarged pores. A greasy skin is prone to pimples and dark shadows. It, therefore, requires frequent cleaning, say thrice a day at least. Use of sulphur soap is beneficial., Also, remember to clean your face at night, before retiring, with some good quality cleansing milk or with un boiled milk. Avoid greasy food. Your intake of water should be at least six glasses a day . If the skin is allowed to remain greasy, pimples and blackheads find an easy way to appear. A greasy skin does not require make-up. Cleansing the pores with steaming once, a week is an effective method to keep the skin greaseless. Use a face-pack after steaming. This is called facial. Face-packs are available in the market but they can also be made at home. What kind of pack would suit you depends upon your skin.
Combination Skin
Most people have at least two different types of facial skin at any given time. Combination skin is oily in the T zone and the rest of the face is dry. The T zone is the forehead, nose and chin. While the skin around the cheeks, eyes and mouth is normal or dry. These different types of skin call for different treatments, so people with combination skin should assess their skin regularly and use different products on different areas of the face.
