Applying Blusher

These cosmetics do several things to your face. They add shape, and defInition to your face, giving your complexion a wonderful, warm and youthful glow. Blushers are availabJe as powders, creams and sticks. Powder blushers are brushed on the face after powdering the face, while the cream and the stick varieties are applied after the foundation, but before using the powder. Use the colour on the blush area. This is the part of the face between parallel lines, one extending outward from the corner of your eye and the second from the bottom of your nose. A touch of colour across the forehead and on the chin completes the look.

The cream rouge is applied to the cheeks with the fingertips in small amounts and spread in the desired fashion. The powder blusher is applied with a brush. Pencils can be used in the same way to define or extend the shape of the eyes, but they give a softer, more natural line. Keep them sharpened and ready for use, as blunted or broken points can spoil the whole effect.

Basis of Makeup Foundation

Foundation is applied before make-up. First, clean your face with deep cleansing milk. Foundation is not only the base of your make-up, it is also the protecting agent of your skin, as well as an effective medium to hide your pimples, shadows and other spots. The face looks clean, soft and fresh.

Take care that you do not use foundation profusely in large quantity. Wash off your makeup before retiring to bed otherwise the particles will clog your skin-pores preventing the skin from inhaling fresh air.

Skin Care in Summer

Your skin requires more attention in summers when due to sweating it is always sticky, requiring frequent washing. Due to exposure to the sun and hot winds the skin becomes carped and complexion becomes sallow. Moreover, the pores get clogged due to perspiration and the skin cannot breathe.

If you have a greasy skin, steaming once a week is advisable, if you have a dry skin steam it once a fortnight. For steaming, a special electrical gadget is used. But if you are trying it at home, the procedure to follow is simple – boil water in a pot and place your face on it so that the rising steam comes on your face. Spread a towel on your head to save the steam from escaping and going waste. Four to five minutes of steaming is sufficient. After this, sprinkle your face with ice cold water so as to close the open pores. Regular steaming keeps the skin glowing.

Skin Care in Winter

The icy winter winds work havoc with your skin, and chapping of skin becomes a common problem. But, the most vulnerable to cold is dry skin which cracks easily if uncared for. Many a time cracked skin bleeds too. It is, therefore, necessary to avoid exposure. Also you have to take care of other parts of your body like palms, feet, back and neck, etc. Icy winds also fade the complexion of your skin. If the skin is dry; then minimise the use of soap to as little as possible. Cold cream and olive oil are effective in reducing dryness. But, before this it is essential to deep-cleanse your face. Most people think that there is no need For moisturising an oily skin. This is a wrong concept. All kinds of skin require moisturising. Brush and Comb

Attention should be paid to the kind of hair brushes and combs you use.

Personally, i have always felt that it is better to use a comb, instead of a brush. There is less hair breakage when combs are used. If there is a hair problem, like dryness, split ends, brittleness or hair loss, stop using a brush.

** Even where combs are concerned, plastic combs have sharp-edged teeth and this can damage or break the hair.

** Choose a wide toothed comb made of hard rubber, horn, tortoise shell, or even wood.

** If you must use a brush, plastic bristled brushes, or one with wire bristles are out.

** Look for a brush with natural bristles. This would cause the least damage.

Keep your combs and brushes scrupulously clean

Set aside one day in the week for cleaning them. In a mug of the hot water, add a little soap ,or shampoo, one of two teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda and a little antiseptic solution. Scope of Cosmetic Surgery

Plastic surgery operations were first performed in Egypt and in India, several thousands of years ago. The era of present day plastic surgery, however, began after the First World War – when skins of millions of people had been devastated by burns and scars. Moreover, by then anaesthesia and antiseptics had revolutionised the scope of surgery. The type of work done by plastic surgeons falls into 2 main categories : 1. Work done to repair burnt, wounded or distorted tissues – this is known as reconstructive plastic surgery. 2. Surgery to make an individual more attractive – this is cosmetic or aesthetic surgery.
